Clairsentience is the ability to perceive emotional energy that is imperceptible to the five senses. In nature, I am awakened by the energy that surrounds me. Mindfulness washes over me as I become aware of the life around me. I notice the curvilinear lines that travel within nature and the human body. This reconnects me to my physical and mental states. Clairsentience manifests the relationship between botanical and human energy fields/auras. Pointing out their similarities shows that we are a part of nature. You may see a flower, or a creature, or the female reproductive system. This sculpture encourages the viewer to see themselves in the form and invites contemplation. 

This sculpture was created through freeform bending on a luthier’s pipe. The strips of veneer were handmade to 48”L x 2”W x ⅛”T. Each curve was individually bent, laminated together in sections, shaped on the ends, and mirrored on two lines of symmetry.
