Ash, Copper, Sterling Silver, & Enamel.

Of Nature encapsulates fungi and the materiality of wood in its purest form. These earrings represent growth through the use of multiples and decay. Fungi are representative of transformation and enlightenment, however, they are detrimental to wood. Their interaction, while negative for one, provides nutrients for the multitude of life around them. This is important for environmental protection and for human health. With this in mind, I question humans' neglectful relationship to nature and the negative effects of our avoidance. 

The fungi were fabricated using copper flashing and enamel. The flashing allowed for  delicate and rippled metal forms. The light weight also functions better for wearability. The sterling growths and enamel were connected via pearl settings. The wooden forms were hand carved.
